BBM heads, blocks and intakes are engineered in both the USA and South Korea. In the USA, our heads were developed by Rob McQuarie and his team from Blue Oval Performance in Denver, Colorado. Using his extensive high performance background, Rob and his team meticulously developed the head design on flow benches, hand porting and developing many different port designs before settling on the industry leading design used in our final product. In addition, Blue Oval Performance also developed the modern heart shaped chamber used in our cylinder heads. Once this final design was decided upon, it was then run through the engineering staff at one of the largest and most technologically advanced manufacturers in the world. Utilizing their state of the art supercomputers and equipment, the engineers digitized the final developed head and cast the heads in their world class, state of the art, OEM quality foundry. Using the finest quality casting sand and cores available, the heads were cast with an incredible resultant loss in flow of only 3% from the hand ported head ports they were digitized and cast from. The resulting castings are near investment quality. The heads are then precision machined using OEM quality machines and personnel. We use hardened valve seats to be compatible with today’s fuels, top quality bronze valve guide inserts, and timeserts are installed in all appropriate threaded holes, rather than the cheaper and more commonly used helicoils. Everything about our heads is of the highest possible quality and performance standard. We are willing to put the quality of our castings and machining up against any other in the market, with complete confidence that ours are superior to any out there.
For our BBM blocks, we developed, in conjunction with the engineers in both the USA and South Korea, an industry leading block. Using a traditional side oiler system, the external appearance of the block is identical to the original 1965 OEM sideoiler block, and will be available in both cast iron and aluminum. All details, markings and appearance are as original. On the inside of the block, it has been significantly strengthened. All of our blocks are drilled for hydraulic lifters, should the builder choose to use them. Again, availability will not be an issue, as the supply chain from our huge OEM affiliate foundry is more than able to keep up with demand, and they are eager for our business. Our blocks are well suited for high performance, racing and restoration work.
Our first BBM intake manifold product is a very high quality casting of the famed Tunnel Wedge intake manifold. Again, the exceptionally fine casting produces a part of better quality than the original. We expect to produce more components for different engine families in addition to the Ford FE, so keep an eye out for our exciting upcoming new products.
