BBM cast iron FE blocks feature:
Exact exterior appearance to original 1965 FE OEM sideoiler blocks. The following markings are cast into the block: C5AE-H, date code 5D12, as well as all the other usual OEM block markings. The BBM cast iron Ford FE block is ideal for both restoration and high performance purposes.
True sideoiler oiling system, as original
Screw in “freeze” plugs, as original
.750 inch thick deck for incredible strength and rigidity
Cast with siamesed cylinder walls for maximum strength and bore capability
Max bore capability 4.440”, shipped with a 4.245” bore, leaving room for final fit honing to standard bore
Accepts a 4.500” stroke with no modification necessary
Stock 10.170” deck height
Strengthened main bearing supports, with main bearing caps extending to side skirts of blocks. This creates added strength and eliminates the OEM style main cap spacers
All block side walls and oil pan rails thickened and strengthened
5/16 – 18 tap for oil restrictor
Forged 8620 alloy steel main caps, significantly stronger with higher tensile strength than billet steel or cast iron
Locating dowels incorporated into the main cap fastener holes for positive cap location and resistance to walking under power
ARP main studs
ARP cross bolts, upgraded from stock 3/8” to 7/16”
Accepts factory style head bolts or studs – no proprietary head fasteners needed
Bosses cast in place for SOHC “Cammer” head oil drainbacks
Machined and drilled for full hydraulic lifter capability
Strengthening ribs cast into lifter valley area for increased rigidity and strength
Block weighs 250lbs.
